Erath County invites the community to join them at 8 a.m. on Friday morning for the annual swearing-in of newly elected officials. And while most of the officials being sworn-in are incumbents who were re-elected, one – County Court-at-Law Judge Blake Thompson – is new to his seat and will be sworn-in for the first time.
Included in the re-elected officials are District Judge Jason Cashon, Erath County Judge Tab Thompson, County Commissioners Herbert Brown (Pct. 2) and Scot Jackson (Pct. 4), County Treasurer Donna Kelly, County Clerk Gwinda Jones, District Clerk Wanda Pringle, Tax Assessor/Collector Jennifer Carey, Justices of the Peace Shawnee Bass (Pct. 1,3,4) and Bart Greenway (Pct. 2) and others.
County officials plan on meeting first in the County Judge’s office in the Erath County Courthouse at 8 a.m. before walking across the street to the Erath County Courthouse Annex – District Judge Cashon’s courtroom where affidavits will be signed and all elected officials will take their oaths of office.
