GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche County.*

LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at Taylor’s Chapel Church following the graveside service.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. on Thursday January 8, 2015, at The Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd.

Lavelle Nichols Connor (Mimi) passed away the morning of January 3, 2015 in Lakeway, Texas surrounded by friends and family at the age of 89.

Lavelle, the fifth of six children, was born on October 14, 1925 in Brown County to Ira Coleman and Flora Helen (Williams) Nichols. She married James Joseph Connor in 1946 in Wichita Falls where they resided.

Lavelle was active in her Wichita Falls community and was a long time member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing mind challenging games and was a skilled card player. She volunteered many hours to Interfaith ministries and enjoyed giving back to her community. Lavelle cherished time visiting her family in Austin, where she eventually moved in 2011. Her bright smile, kind-heartedness, and sassy personality will be dearly missed.

Lavelle Connor is survived by her son, Craig Connor and his wife Kelly, son-in-law, Jon McDonald, and two precious granddaughters, Hunter Connor and Emily McDonald, sister, Betty and her husband Don Keel, sister-in-law, Nancy and her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ Armstrong, along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Lavelle was preceded in death by loving husband of 61 years, Joe Connor and beloved daughter, Carla Jo McDonald.
