Billie Ruth Swaffar nee Griffin, was born February 18, 1931, in Sayre, Oklahoma and attended grade school through Junior College in Borger, Texas. She was active in Choir and Glee Club there, and continued to express her love of music throughout her life.
She worked in accounting offices for firms in Borger until her marriage, October 9, 1952 and later after her children left home. She was a member of Duffau Baptist Church, where she volunteered for many years as editor of the church bulletin and was very active in the nursery.
Billie is survived by her husband of 62 years, C.D. Swaffar; brothers, Merle and Medford Griffin; sister Melba Bayless; children, William Swaffar and April Robinson-Wilson; granddaughters, Laurin, Sarah, and Desiree Carney; great grandchildren, Mekayla, Donovann, Aiden, Justice, and Autumn.
She was known and loved as “Mom” or “Meemee” by many children, of all ages, besides her own.

Services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Daffau Baptist Church, located at 351 County Road 546 in Hico.
