STEPHENVILLE (January 13, 2015) — Tarleton State University will host open auditions for the upcoming Theater at Tarleton musical production, The Drowsy Chaperone.

Auditions will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center’s workshop theater (Room 103). The audition is open to Tarleton students, faculty, staff and community members (students must have a minimum 2.25 GPA).

The two-act musical will take to the stage Feb. 25-28, in the Fine Arts Center auditorium with four 7:30 p.m. performances.

“We need a variety of ages from 18 to 80 and all body types” for the upcoming production, said Mark Holtorf, Tarleton associate professor of fine arts and director of the musical. “If possible, please have 16 measures of music from an up tempo Broadway style song with sheet music. If you do not have a song, we will give you something to sing.”

Holtorf advised those auditioning to wear something comfortable that allows for movement.  “There will also be an acting portion and a small dance audition as well.”

For more information, email Mark Holtorf at holtorf@tarleton.edu.
