DUBLIN (January 20, 2015) — When the Dublin ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday night, they approved a one-year contract extension for DISD Superintendent Dr. Rodney Schneider, ensuring he will be with the district until 2020. But that wasn’t all the board did.

In addition to the superintendent’s evaluation and contact, the board also voted to accept the report agenda from Schneider which included student enrollment and employment at the district. The superintendent informed the board the district had an enrollment of 1,171 students, this is down slightly from 1,174 in December. However, Schneider reported enrollment is leveling off and staying higher than last year at this time.

He also informed the board that the secondary campus is still looking for one classroom aid and that the assistant band director would be leaving to pursue a career in mission work. Schneider said the district would begin the search for a replacement soon.

Other unanimous approvals included the minutes from the previous meeting, budget adjustments to reflect the money Gay Yarbrough contributed to the renovations to the old Jr. High cafeteria for the daycare, the first reading of TASB Policy 101 and the setting of the next board meeting for Monday, February 16, at 7 p.m.
