STEPHENVILLE (February 10, 2015) — Stephenville product and Tarleton State junior Katelyn Conlee earned her first career Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week honor when weekly accolades were announced Wednesday by league officials in Richardson.

Conlee began the season 10-for-10, including 7-7 with 10 RBI when Tarleton swept a doubleheader from Southwestern Oklahoma State to begin its season.

The TexAnns have gone on to a 6-1 start, their best since 2007, with Conlee playing a major role. She has had at least one hit in every game, and at the end of last week was leading the LSC in hits (18), RBI (14) and total bases. She is batting .692 following a 3-3 performance in win over Northwestern Oklahoma State Monday. That leads all LSC hitters with at least five at bats.

Tarleton and Conlee travel to Canyon this weekend for West Texas A&M’s Woodward Invitational. They face Chadron State (Neb.) and Colorado Mesa at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Metropolitan State (Colo.) and Colorado School of Mines at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, then Colorado State-Pueblo and Adams State (Colo.) at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. All six opponents are from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, part of the South Central Region that includes Tarleton.
