STEPHENVILLE (February 25, 2015) — Foster’s Home for Children is getting ready for its annual auction.

Last year the auction, now in its 12th year, raised more than $100,000 for the organization.

This year’s auction will be like last year, officials said, and will be held at two locations. On Friday, March 6, there will be an auction held at Box Lots Auction Barn beginning at 6 p.m. On Saturday, March 7, the outdoor auction will begin at 9 a.m. behind the gym at the Foster’s Home.

A barbecue lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, then another live and silent auction will be held inside the gym beginning at 12:30 p.m. Following the live auction on Saturday afternoon, the vehicle auction will be held in the field behind the gym.

The organization still needs help from local business owners and community members. While there have already been a large number of donations made including several vehicles, furniture, household items, tools, exercise equipment and home decor items, the children can use more help.

“If you would like to donate any gift certificates, gift baskets or anything else that could help us in any other way for this event, please contact us and we will be glad to come pick up the donation,” said Lacy Barton, vice president of development. “This is a great time to visit our campus, get to know some of the kids in our care and make a donation to a wonderful cause.”

All the funds raised during the auction will go back into the organization to help abused and neglected children who come into foster care.

For more information, call Barton at 968-2143, ext. 245.
