The Veterans Outreach Initiative of Texas was formed to help bring a Veterans Administration Medical Clinic to Erath County. The Veterans of Erath County are at least 60 miles from VA care. At one time Stephenville was in consideration for just such a clinic and the award was given to Brownwood.
With the large volume of Veterans in Erath County and the uncounted Veterans of Tarleton and the 111th Engineer Battalion stationed in Stephenville, the ending of the war in Afghanistan. The expectation is that our Veteran population will only continue to grow.
Even though we have reached out to our elected officials the only way to bring this much needed facility to Erath County is by having community support, the best way to show that is with a petition drive.
If at all possible we need your help to obtain the needed signatures for our petition drive in support of our Hometown Hero’s.
Attached to this email is a petition if you could assist in getting the needed signatures and return to either the DAV office in Stephenville or our P.O. Box 2130 in Stephenville Texas. A member of our group would also be glad to come by and speak regarding our effort or even to pick up the petitions.
