(April 17, 2015) — Middle blockers Hannah McManus of Caldwell and Macie Taylor of Frisco Liberty have signed national letters of intent to play volleyball at Tarleton State.

McManus and Taylor join Adrianna Knutson of San Antonio Reagan, an early signee, as the first three members of the 2015 recruiting class for Tarleton head coach Mary Schindler, who led the TexAnns to a school-record 24 wins, their first-ever Lone Star Conference Tournament championship and first-ever win in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

McManus stands six feet tall and was a four-year standout at Caldwell, about 80 miles east of Austin. In addition to a plethora of all-district accolades, she was named three times to the All-Brazos Valley team and was a three-time all-state and all-region selection. She helped Caldwell reach the Region III-4A semifinals as a senior.

“Hannah has good size and mobility with an incredible attitude and work ethic. I feel she is a perfect fit for our program,” said Schindler, according to a release from the Tarleton Athletic Communications Department. “I think she has the potential to contribute right away.”

Taylor was a two-time second-team all-district selection at Frisco Liberty, despite standing just 5-9.

“Taylor (has) exceptional speed and leaping ability. She is quick off the ground with a matching arm swing. I think she will be at the block on offense and work hard to close the block defensive,” said Schindler, according to the release. “I am looking forward to having Macie compete as a freshman.”
