STEPHENVILLE (April 23, 2015) – Euphemia Edem was named Lone Star Conference Athlete of the week for the fourth straight week Wednesday after her performance at the East Texas Invitational Saturday.
The All-American jumper rewrote her own record in the long jump Saturday, finishing the meet with a best jump of 6.43m (21-1.25), currently ranked as the No. 1 jump in the nation this season. Edem’s mark also broke the stadium record previously held by Lindsay Welch of Abilene Christian of 6.32m (20-9) set back in 1996.
This marks the first time under Tarleton head coach Pat Ponder that an athlete has earned Lone Star Conference field athlete of the week honors four consecutive times.
Tarleton will compete in the Rice Twilight in Houston, TX April 25 from Holloway Field And Ley Track.
