Marjory (Margie) Ruth Viles

Peacefully, Marjory (Margie) Ruth Viles, passed away, on April 28, 2015. She was with her caregivers at Oakwood Assisted Living, in Stephenville, Texas. Margie was born to Ralph Lee and Nannie Grace Smith, in Knoxville, Tennessee, on December 18, 2015. After her first few years there, the family moved to Sterling, Kansas, where she spent most of her formative years with her brother, Leland Smith, and sister, Joyce (Smith) Blaser (of CO), met her husband, Lloyd R. Viles, and schooled, and began her career as a teacher. Margie and Lloyd, along with their two daughters, Linda Viles (of Austin, TX), and Jana VIles (of Kauai, HI), spent much of their spare time camping, traveling the country, and, getting involved with horses and ranching. Stephenville became her home in 1977, when they retired early, and bought the second of two ranches, Viles Valley Ranch. Margie and Lloyd were loyal members of the Kum Dubl Sunday School, at the First Methodist Church, in Stephenville, where, in earlier years, she enjoyed singing in the choir, and playing the bells. She and her husband, volunteered for years at HOPE, and also helped Cross Timbers Country Opry, during their opening years. Going to hear country music, was one of her biggest joys in life. Margie is best summed in two words: CARING AND LOVING. She left this world with no enemies, only loved ones. She shared a positive word with anyone she met. She will be remembered for her sweet smile. Her spirit will live on with all that she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Lloyd R. Viles, and survived by her daughters, Linda Viles of Austin, TX, Jana Viles (John Myers) of Kauai, HI; grandsons, Mason Simmons and Matt Knoch, both of Austin, TX; granddaughters, Ilysea Sunderman, of Christchurch, New Zealand, and Grace Simpson, of Santa Cruz, CA; great-granddaughters, Phoenix, and Nova Sunderman, of Christchurch, New Zealand; and great-grandson, Evan Simmons, of Austin, TX.

Her visitation will be held at Lacy Funeral Home, on Sunday, May 3, 2015, 6-8 pm; the Celebration of Life service on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 2 pm at The First Methodist Church, in Stephenville.
