Oratorical essay winners present their work to Optimist Club

STEPHENVILLE (April 29, 2015) — Winners of the Optimist Club oratorical essay contest from Stephenville High School presented their work in speeches at the club’s weekly lunch meeting at the City Hall banquet facility at City Limits Wednesday.

Isaac Lingle, the boys winner, and Laura Waldron, girls champ, each presented their speeches to a room full of business and community leaders who comprise the Optimist Club, which works solely to benefit local youth.

Following the speeches, Lingle, Waldron, second-place female Riley McKenzie and third-place female Alex Lopez were presented their awards, including checks to the winners.

  1. Brad, We appreciate the quick news. The pictures of the truck wreck this morning were amazing. Isaac Lingle’s winning of the Optimist Oratorical Contest was especially nice since he is a product of Morgan Mill School.
