STEPHENVILLE (May 5, 2015) — Stephenville residents have the opportunity to visit an innovative mobile cancer survivorship clinic that will be a regular visitor to Erath County, providing healthcare benefits to residents who are uninsured or under insured.

Moncrief Cancer Institute is unveiling its mobile clinic to Stephenville residents and holding a Stephenville Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting in the parking lot of Stephenville Medical & Surgical Clinic Tuesday. Speakers, tours and more will highlight the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The ribbon cutting is set for 11:30 a.m.

The mobile cancer survivorship clinic includes two exam rooms, an exercise area, meeting space and a full staff to help participating residents, according to a story by The Flash Today Publisher Jessie Horton, published on January 12 after representatives of Moncrief Cancer Institute shared their plans with Erath County Commissioners.

“The project includes a full staff including doctors, nurses, a nutritionist, an exercise therapist and more. It even has the ability to video conference with any specialist or anyone we need from right there in the mobile facility,” Dr. Keith Argenbright told commissioners. “If your insurance doesn’t cover the services our clinic provides or you have an extremely high deductible or no insurance at all, the staff will not turn you away.”

Argenbright believes Moncrief will work effectively with local physicians and patients.

“We aren’t here to take business away from the wonderful doctors and facilities you have here in Erath County,” he told the commissioners court. “We’ve worked very closely with doctors and hospitals here before and are hoping to do the same again. We think this will be a very beneficial program for everyone in the community.”
