GRANBURY (May 28, 2015) — An art show, “Quiet Disquiet: A Series by Crystal Davis,” will open at the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural and Educational Center in Granbury, beginning May 30, presented by Tarleton State University.

The show features tableau portrait photography, created by digitally arranging subjects into miniature dollhouse scenes.

Davis, an award-winning Fort Worth-based artist, describes her art as intimate and lifelike, because it expresses her struggles with anxiety. She focuses her art on personal challenges to better educate others and help those with mental illness.

“This is an intimately constructed, reality fine-art series,” Davis said. “It expresses, through an intense visual style, how difficult it was for me to find happiness and accept my illness.”

Davis has exhibited locally at the Frisco Art Gallery, White Space Gallery of Dallas, and the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

“Quiet Disquiet” will open at the Langdon Center’s historic A.P. Gordon House, located at 308 East Peal St. in Granbury, during the historic district’s Last Saturday Gallery Night on May 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The show will continue at the Gordon House Gallery through June 24. The gallery will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission to the show is free.
