STEPHENVILLE (June 13, 2015) — It will be the biggest eight days of cowboy mounted shooting Stephenville has ever seen when Lone Star Arena hosts the Cowboy Capital Central Championship as well as the Shoot For the Troops, fundraiser.

The mounted shooting runs from Saturday, June 13, through Saturday, June 20. The biggest night for locals is Tuesday, June 16, when area celebrities such as Stephenville mayor Kenny Weldon and professional cowboys like Richmond Champion take part in the celebrity shoot. The Shoot for the Troops begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday and will also feature calcutta, quick draw and live auction.

Proceeds from the Tuesday night fundraiser go to American300.org to benefit US troops.

It’s not all about the locals trying their hand, however. The rest of the week features serious competition as the Western South Central Regional takes place Saturday and Sunday and the Central US Championship runs from Wednesday, June 17, through Saturday, June 20.
