(June 14, 2015) — Five Tarleton State competitors were in action Sunday when the “Bulls, Broncs & Breakaway” performances marked the beginning of the 2015 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.

Tarleton has seven cowboys and three cowgirls in action in Cheyenne, where the Texans and TexAnns last won team titles in 2005.

Tarleton bareback riders Kody Lamb and Devan Riley each scored 73 points in round one, placing them in a tie for 10th. Jace Lane scored 68.5 points and is seventh in the saddle bronc riding, while teammate Bobby Cress failed to cover.

TexAnn Lauren Bane had a no time in the opening round of the breakaway roping.

Slack will take all events through their first two rounds Monday and Tuesday, with third rounds to follow over the course of four rodeo productions Tuesday through Friday. The championship round is Saturday. Each performance begins at 8 p.m. (CST). Wednesday through Saturday rounds will be broadcast online by ESPN3.
