Honeybee Alford receives soccer offer from Midwestern

STEPHENVILLE (June 19, 2015) — Stephenville High School soccer standout Savannah Alford has received a scholarship offer from Midwestern State University The Flash learned Friday.

Alford was district defensive MVP in 4-4A, helping the Honeybees to their second-ever regional tournament appearance. They were eliminated in the 4A Region I semifinals by previously unbeaten Melissa.

The senior-to-be plays club soccer with Fort Worth FC ’99, a Division I club in Lake Highlands Girls.

Midwestern State, a member of NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference, is located in Wichita Falls. MSU made its offer to Alford following her appearance at a camp the university hosted. She also plans to attend a camp at Texas Tech and has shown interest in Angelo State.
