Tarleton Athletic Communications receives top honors from CoSIDA

STEPHENVILLE (July 2, 2015) – The Tarleton Athletics Communications office was awarded three major awards with the release of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), including three best in the nation honors.

The Director of Athletic Communications Nathan Bural and graduate assistant Jeff Smith received a Best in the Nation award for the 2014-15 men’s basketball media guide and the 2014 football media guide while the football guide garnered the Best Cover award. All three awards came in the college division, which covers all of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and junior colleges.

“This shows that the time, effort and passion we have for the job that’s turning our Athletic Communications department into one of the best in all of the NCAA-and that’s including all of Division I or Division II,” Tarleton State Athletic Director Lonn Reisman said.

“We compete with anyone with our work ethic, our enthusiasm, and the quality of work that we do. Nathan, Ryan and Jeff are tireless workers in this department and it’s an accumulation of what a great year we’ve had this year in all of our athletic programs and it’s progressed over into the athletic communications department with what they’re doing to promote our programs to make our programs the best there is in the nation.”

Under the direction of Bural, the Tarleton Athletic Communications department has received numerous awards from CoSIDA, including top-four finishes in the nation for volleyball, women’s basketball and softball media guides.
