Sox, HR Derby champ Luna advance to World Series semifinals

(July 7, 2015) — The Stephenville Sox 12U baseball team is on to the semifinals in the USSSA World Series, where standout Daniel Luna has already claimed the title of home run champion.

The Sox, ranked fifth in NorthTexas and 22nd in the nation, won three of four pool games to advance to the bracket rounds of the championship, where they knocked off Texas Hardball Lt. Blue out of Round Rock 7-4 in the quarterfinals of the Majors Division Tuesday morning.

The power-hitting Luna cranked 13 home runs to win the Super Series World Series Home Run Derby, defeating 33 other challengers.
