FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Pendergrass Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Joy Scott Caffey, age 89, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, in Comanche County, Texas.

She was born on November 24, 1925, in Comanche County, to Bozie and Jewell (Fields) Scott. On March 24, 1946, she married the love of her life, Wayland Caffey, in Comanche. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1982. Joy and Wayland made their home in Fort Worth for almost forty years, then retired to their family farm in Sidney. For eighteen years Joy managed Dear Barbeque Pit in Fort Worth, and after moving to Comanche, she worked at a clerk for the Comanche County Justice of the Peace. She loved her family beyond words and her love extended to all her nieces, nephews and friends. Joy was a Primitive Baptist.

She is survived by her sons, Doug Caffey and wife Becky of Sidney, and Ron Caffey and wife Nancy of Hurst; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Gary Scott; sisters, Faye Beckham and Ruth Ann Padron; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Scott, and one sister, Geretha Cawthorne.
