STEPHENVILLE (July 20, 2015) — Bruner Motors, a bedrock member of the Stephenville business community since 1969, celebrated yet another milestone on Monday, when father-and-son partners Dwain and Greg Bruner were awarded plaques commemorating 25 years as co-dealers of the Buick, Cadillac and GMC brands.
Tim Hughes, soon-to-retire zone manager of 74 stores for Chevrolet Motors Division, praised the Bruners and their ongoing success in Stephenville with the following comments:
Bruner Motors, Inc. was founded in Stephenville 46 years ago this summer, a block north of the downtown square where Hayden Real Estate is now located. It was Dwain’s father, Vernon Bruner, who originally got the family into the car business in 1938 in Kerens, in east Texas. Dwain, who was honored as a 50-year dealer in 2012, opened the store in Stephenville in 1969.
Greg Bruner has worked around the dealership since his high school days, and after graduating from Baylor, he returned to Stephenville, earning co-dealer status in 1990.
The Bruner Auto Family became one of the first dealerships to have all of the GMC and Chrysler brands, and today has the Buick-GMC-Cadillac dealership at South Loop and Lillian in Stephenville, a Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep dealership at South Loop and US Highway 281 in Stephenville, a Toyota dealership in Early and pre-owned dealerships in both Stephenville and Early.
