Stephenville – Graveside services for Mary Ethel Strickland, 84, homemaker, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle, TX. with Kory Koch officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2015, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Mary was born in Argyle, Texas on August 15, 1930 to J.C. Taylor and Georgia Ethel Florence. She married Hubert Strickland. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her three children; Mary V. Strickland of Stephenville, Valerie Birdwell and husband, Guy of Brookesmith, Cynthia Stephens and husband, V.W. of Stephenville, three grandchildren; Jason Stephens, Linda Stephens, Lisa Staley and husband, James, two great-grandchildren; V. Stephens and Alyssa Staley. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
