Sharpe takes over as assistant coach for athletic performance at Tarleton

STEPHENVILLE – Assistant Athletics Director for Athletic Performance Rod Cole has announced the newest addition to the Tarleton Athletics staff with the hiring of Stephanie Sharpe.

After spending the last seven years at NCAA Division I Tulane University in New Orleans, La., Sharpe brings her skills to the Purple and White of Tarleton as the new assistant coach for Athletic Performance.

“We are blessed to have someone with Stephanie’s experience and expertise here at Tarleton,” said Cole. “She can flat out coach, and I am excited to have her working with our Texan and TexAnn student-athletes.”

While at Tulane, Sharpe was the second assistant training coach for football while also working with men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field and cross country, baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming, diving, and bowling throughout her tenure.

At Tarleton, Sharpe will be in charge of all strength and conditioning activities for baseball, softball, track and field, and cross country. She will also assist Cole with football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and program administration.

Sharpe, a native of New Orleans, is CSCS certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA-Weightlifting certified, and a 2002 graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans. She completed her graduate work at the University of New Orleans and served as an intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
