(August 28, 2015) — Stephenville had a tough second day in the Leander Volleypalooza tournament Friday, falling to 6A Waco Midway and Round Rock Stony Point and 5A  Aledo.

The Honeybees return to the court at 9 a.m. Saturday to challenge 5A Bryan, then face two-time reigning 4A state champ Decatur at 10 a.m. Stephenville must win at least one to earn a third match before returning home.

Chelsea Gillespie was the statistical leader much of Friday for Stephenville with six assists and eight digs against Midway, seven and five, respectively against Stony Point then 10 and six versus Aledo.

Kylee Ponder amassed 16 digs in just two sets and also aced a serve against Aledo. Kourtney Seaton had six kills and four blocks in that match, while Mikayla Hobbs landed five kill-shots dug four balls and served an ace.

Seaton also had five kills against Midway and three blocks versus Stony Point. Hobbs Made seven digs against Midway, while Garber had seven assists and Kerstin Fredrickson six kills against Stony Point.
