STEPHENVILLE (September 17, 2015) — The day is here! Thursday, September 17, is North Texas Giving Day and Erath County residents can help Foster’s Home for Children right here in Stephenville.

Giving Day began at 6 a.m. and will run through midnight Thursday night. It is an ONLINE giving day that focuses on charities and non-profits in North Texas. The event includes Foster’s Home in Stephenville, and their staff is asking residents to give a little or give a lot because to a child, giving even a little means a lot.

“And donations of at least $25 are guaranteed a percentage match,” said Lacy Barton, Vice President of Development at Foster’s Home. “And in addition to the donations, Foster’s Home has a chance to win extra bonus money throughout the day. So the more you give, the more it helps!”

According to the event website, more than $2.4 million is available as bonus and prize money to be given out to organizations involved in the campaign.

To be a part of North Texas Giving Day, visit the website (here) and search for your organization (Fosters Home) and make a donation. Barton said donators will get a receipt automatically emailed to them. As of 8:30 a.m. Fosters Home had received 14 donations totally more than $6,500.

“This is a huge one day push to encourage people to give back and it means we’ll be able to take care of 45+ children, feed them clothe them, all that stuff,” Barton said. “These kids will be able to grow and flourish in all the best ways and with the bonuses and prize money. Our local residents have a chance to do more with their donations than they would other times.”
