ERATH COUNTY (September 21, 2015) — A small cut was the only injury when a semi hauling a core drilling unit overturned on US Highway 281, north of Stephenville Monday morning.

Officials on scene reported the accident was caused by a blowout on the rig which pulled the vehicle into the ditch where it turned on it’s side. Major damage was done to a fence, but the vehicle just narrowly missed hitting a telephone pole.

Traffic was slowed as the scene was cleared but never stopped thanks to work from emergency personnel on scene. Units responding included Texas Highway Patrol, Erath County EMS, Erath County Volunteer Fire Rescue, Cross Timbers First Responders and Morgan Mill VFD.
