(September 26, 2015) — Stephenville dropped the first set but bounced back with three straight wins to take a district opening victory at Graham Friday, 22-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Four players had at least nine kills for Stephenville, four were in double digits in digs, three aced two serves each and two had at least 19 assists in the balanced effort. The Honeybees continue league play on Tuesday when Mineral Wells visits Gandy Gym on Teacher Appreciation Night.

Middles Kourtney Seaton and Nicona Stilwell had 13 kills and 10, respectively, while outside hitters Mikayla Hobbs and Kaleigh Conger added 10 and nine. The attack was set up by Taylor Garber with 20 assists and Chelsea Gillespie with 19. Garber, Gillespie and Seaton also aced two serves each.

Pacing the defense was junior Kylee Ponder with 31 digs. Hobbs had 16 digs and Gillespie added 13 to give both seniors double-doubles. Conger added 10 digs.
