Texans run to fourth, TexAnns 11th in Chile Pepper Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (October 3, 2015) – The Tarleton cross country teams competed in the 27th annual Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday and the men finished fourth in the college division and the women placed 11th.

The men, ranked ninth in the South Central regional rankings, had 150 points and the women had 295 points.

Tye Doty was the top runner for the Texans, coming in 34th place in the 8K with a time of 24:37.82. Doty has been the top finisher in all three races for Tarleton in the 2015 season.

Chase Rathke came in 43rd place in a time of 24:43.32 followed by Dylan Willett in 69th (25:12.39). Thorne Pettigrew finished in 90th (25:29.27) and Brandon Lacy‘s time of 26:07.22 put him in 161st.

Aly Coughlin led the TexAnns once again by coming in 14th place in 16:57.92 for the 5K course. Katelin Huckabee and Tylo Farrar came in 65th (17.59.99) and 163rd (18:52.35) place, respectively. Rounding out the TexAnns’ scoring was Haley Dennard in 198th (19:11.88) and Ande Carlton in 271st (19:56.58).

Tarleton’s next meet will be at the Angelo State Blue & Gold Classic on Oct. 13 as they gear up for the Lone Star Conference Championships that Tarleton’s hosting on Oct. 26.
