STEPHENVILLE (Ocbober 13, 2015) – After leading Tarleton to back-to-back conference wins over Cameron and Midwestern State, Hailey Roberts has been recognized as the Lone Star Conference and Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week.

Roberts’ phenomenal season continued last week as the sophomore from Cedar Park led Tarleton to two more wins and moved the TexAnns into a tie for first-place with their eight consecutive wins.

Roberts totaled 54 kills for an average of 7.71 kills per set to lead Tarleton to a sweep of Cameron Friday night and a four-set win over Midwestern State Saturday. In addition to landing 54 kills, she boasted a .325 hitting percentage and had her fifth career 30-kill game after a 24-kill performance against Cameron in Friday night’s sweep. She now has 10 games this season with at least 20 kills. Roberts also added two assists, three aces, 14 digs, two blocks, and 58.5 points for Tarleton.

For the season, Roberts leads the LSC in total kills (419), kills per set (6.25) and aces per set (0.52). In addition to leading the conference, Roberts also leads the nation in total kills and kills per set.

This is Roberts’ fourth weekly honor by the conference this season and first national honor. She is the only TexAnn in the history of the program to claim the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week award, which she has now done twice in her career.

Roberts and the TexAnns are currently riding an eight-game winning streak, which they will put on the line Friday night in a battle for first-place in the LSC standings against Texas Woman’s at 6 p.m.
