(December 3, 2015) — Stephenville opened up tournament action in Glen Rose with its second straight win Thursday morning, this one coming in overtime.
The Honeybees (3-3) knocked down nine of 11 overtime free throws, lifting them to a 53-47 win over Burleson Centennial. The Bees shoot for a three-game win streak when they face West at 11 a.m., also Thursday.
Ali Thorpe hit four of five free throws and scored six points in the overtime. She finished with 10 to give the Bees three double-digit scorers.
Thorpe’s senior classmates, Kali Smith and Bayleigh Chaviers, led Stephenville with 13 points and 12, respectively. Thorpe stepping up in overtime was especially crucial after Chaviers fouled out in the third quarter.
Skyler Chipman scored eight including 3-4 from the stripe in overtime. Liz Pack added five points, Emily Brandon three and Payton Wall two.
