GRANBURY (December 12, 2015) — Kali Smith made five first-half 3-pointers and Stephenville was never challenged in a 51-16 rout of Fort Worth Paschal to finish seventh in the Van Griffith Kia Holiday Hoops Classic Saturday.

Smith made seven 3-pointers the day before in a 62-32 thumping of Corsicana, and by halftime Saturday had 12 triples over six quarters. The Honeybees turned back the dial several notches after halftime and Smith led all scorers with 17.

In actuality, Stephenville head coach Alan Thorpe turned back the dial well before halftime, going deep into his bench after seeing his starters storm out to a 13-0 lead. Smith hit three 3-pointers in the opening moments of the game, and full court pressure led to baskets by Bayleigh Chaviers and Ali Thorpe inside.

It was 13-4 after the first and 33-21 by intermission.

Chaviers scored 10, Payton Wall eight, Skyler Chipman four, Liz Pack four, Katy Pierce four, Ali Thorpe two and Abby Brawner two.

The Bees are visit Kennedale at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
