Tarleton announces campus closures in observance of MLK Jr. Day

STEPHENVILLE (January 12, 2016) — In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Tarleton State University administrative offices are closed and classes dismissed Monday, Jan. 18.

All Tarleton campus locations resume normal operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The Dick Smith Library, Student Health & Counseling Center, Tarleton Alumni Association offices and the university’s Welcome Center also will close in observance of the MLK Day holiday as well as the Texan Brew coffee station in the Tarleton Center and Study Grounds Café inside the library.

Also closed in observance of MLK Day will be Tarleton’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas in Thurber and the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural & Educational Center in Granbury.

The following is a list of university offices and departments with modified operating hours on Monday, Jan. 18:
• Recreational Sports Center – Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Barry B. Thompson Student Center – Open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Dining Hall – Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Texan Food Court (T-Bird’s, Let’s Roll Sushi & Oscar P’s Pizza) – Open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Texan Food Court (Chic-Fil-A) – Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Campus Bookstore in the Student Center – Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All student residence halls will be open, with Residential Living & Learning staff on duty to assist with any concerns on campus.
