Jackets power way to first, Bees second in Santo meet

(January 25, 2016) — Stephenville won the boys team title and was second in the girls team standings at a powerlifting meet in Santo Saturday.

Stephenville lifters captured five division titles, with Keith Ray winning the 132 pound class, Austin Northcutt conquering the 275-pound division and Jacob Lopez reigning supreme in the super heavyweights on the boys side. Nadine Arredondo and Amber Rush each won their divisions on the girls side.

Division winners won’t alone in earning points for Stephenville. Ragan Wood and Ethan Norris were second and fifth in the 198-pound boys flight, while Nathan Madrid was second in the 200s. Cesar Montano was fourth in the 132s and Hayden Monk fourth in the 148s.

In girl, Kimberly Alvarez was second in the 165s, Jamie Merrill third in the 148s and Jessica Pacini fourth in the 181s.
