(January 29, 2016) — They just keep winning, and often, dominating.

Stephenville (8-0) made it eight straight victories on the pitch Friday evening, their second on the road this week. The Yellow Jackets beat Kennedale 3-0 behind shut out net minding by Noble Alexander and goals by Aaron Veloz, Brady Alford and Tino Rocha.

Veloz opened the scoring midway through the first half on a goal that actually started with Alexander in net. The keeper punted the ball down the sideline to Santi Gallegos, who passed it off to Veloz to set up the score.

Brady Alford made it 2-0 nine minutes into the second half before Tino Rocha scored on a breakaway four minutes later to finish the tally.

The defense in front of Alexander was also stout for Stephenville, especially when the keeper needed them most to preserve the shutout. He dove for a save that left the net open, but when Kennedale took a shot on the rebound defender Dustin Lingle swept in to play the ball away.

The Jackets began their prolonged winning streak by defeating Alvarado at home. They kept rolling in the Knights of Columbus Challenge of Champions, taking four matches to win the championship, three in open play and one in a shootout after a scoreless draw with 5A power Waco University in the tournament final.

Since the tournament, Stephenville have defeated Burkburnett at home and Fort Worth Southwest on the road. They face Bridgeport twice next week, on the road at 7 p.m. Tuesday and back home on the pitch at Lem Brock Field at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
