(February 1, 2016) — Stephenville has four new opponents on its 2016 and 2017 football schedules, two of which the Yellow Jackets have faced in the state playoffs the last years.

The opponents and the order of pre-district games was set along with the UIL realignment Monday morning, though locations are still being finalized. The order of games played in 3-4A Division I will be set at a district meeting to be held soon.

Stephenville faces, in order, Cleburne, Springtown, Everman, Decatur and Graham before the start of 3-4A Division I play, which pits them against Abilene Wylie, Big Spring, Brownwood and Snyder, the same teams that comprised the district the last two seasons.

Stephenville defeated Everman, 10-7, early last season, and beat Decatur, 49-28, in a bi-district playoff. The Yellow Jackets did not face Cleburne, Springtown or Graham last year, but were eliminated from the 2014 quarterfinals by Graham. The Jackets beat Springtown in the 2013 playoffs.

Stephenville has also set its preseason scrimmages, beginning with White Settlement Brewer at home, followed by a short road trip to Granbury.
