(March 6, 2016) — The drought is over.

Ranger College fell into need of an At-Large invitation following a surprising loss to Odessa College in the Region V Men’s Basketball Tournament. As the winner of the Region V title, Odessa garnered the region’s automatic berth in the 24-team field.

The national tournament is scheduled for March 14-19 in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

For the Rangers, the invitation marked the first time the team will advance to the national tournament since 1967. That year, RC finished sixth in the final standings.

Ranger College, 28-5 for the season and ranked No. 10 in the final regular season poll, was one of four teams to receive At-Large invitations. Other teams receiving berths included North Idaho, Eastern Florida State and McLennan Community College.

The complete bracket for the NJCAA tournament will be available on March 7 at www.njcaa.org.
