TexAnn tennis routs Sioux Falls for 9-3 start

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tarleton Tennis played its final match of spring break and did kept right on rolling as the TexAnns cruised past Sioux Falls in an 8-1 win to improve to 9-3 on the season.

Tarleton opened the match with a sweep of doubles action, including an 8-0 win by Elena Preadca and Luiza Ferraro-Adas in the No. 1 match. Erika Richarme and Ashleigh Elward handled the No. 2 match 8-1 while Shelby Fillingame and Ellie Stevens paired up to finish off the sweep with an 8-4 win in the No. 3 match.

When singles play began, Tarleton continued its dominance.

Richarme and Ferraro-Adas won the No. 1 and No. 3 matches by identical 6-2, 6-0 scores while Elward rounded out the top three of the Tarleton lineup with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 match.

Preadca (6-2, 6-2) and Stevens (6-1, 6-2) won the No. 4 and No. 5 matches by a combined score of 24-7. Taylor Porter fell in the No. 6 match by the score of 3-6, 2-6.

Tarleton will return home on March 24 at 5 p.m. to host St. Edward’s.
