STEPHENVILLE (March 14, 2016) – Tarleton senior forward EJ Reed was named to the D2CCA South Central All-Region team as a First-Team selection, the committee announced Monday.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II South Central Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams.

Reed, a First-Team All-Lone Star Conference selection, has led the Texans in scoring, rebounding, and 3-point percentage for most of the season. Reed is averaging 17.4 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting, 6.7 rebounds, and shot 37 percent from 3-point range. The senior from Mesquite also posted a team-best nine double-doubles and was named a Lone Star Conference Player of the Week five times this season, the most in the conference. Reed topped 20 points seven times this season, including a career-high 27 points against Delta State.

Reed is the 10th Tarleton player to be named First-Team All-Region in program history and the first since Chuck Guy in 2013-14.

Joining Reed on the first team is Ryan Stephan (Colorado Mesa), David Chavlovich (West Texas A&M), Gokul Natesan (Colorado School of Mines), and John Moon (Oklahoma Christian).

Reed and the Texans are making the school’s sixth Sweet Sixteen appearance when they take on Angelo State on Tuesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. in Wichita Falls.
