STEPHENVILLE (March 29, 2016) — Stephenville (8-10, 0-2) was the first team in 6-3A to take No. 1 Abilene Wylie (15-2, 3-0) the distance in a district game, but in the end the Yellow Jackets were just the latest victim of the potent Bulldogs, falling 10-1 at James T. Young Baseball Field Tuesday.

Stephenville visits Graham at 7:30 p.m. Friday, following a 4:30 p.m. junior varsity contest.

Cole Harmon pitched into the seventh inning for Stephenville and allowed only two hard hits, but Wylie manufactured seven earned runs and three unearned scores off him. Luke Bullard came in and recorded the final two outs for the Jackets.

Mac Mueller, who has signed with Rice, stayed in control on the mound for Wylie, with the only Stephenville run coming on an RBI ground out by Bradley Morrison in the bottom of the fifth. Stephenville almost scored on a single by pinch hitter Noble Alexander, but Wylie made a play at the plate for the final out of the night.

The Wylie ace surrendered just one hit in six innings as the Bulldogs took command of the district. He had a no-hitter through four innings before Harmon singled for Stephenville in the fifth. Tyler Henson pitched the seventh and surrendered a run on two hits.

The biggest hit for Wylie was a 2-run single by Henson as part of a five-run fourth inning, pushing the Bulldogs ahead, 7-0.
