GRANBURY (April 12, 2016) — TexAnn Golf closed out the regular season with three straight tournament wins by taking the top prize at the Doc Housewright Invitational.

Tarleton led from start to finish, carding a 294 and 292 for a final score of 586 (+10). St. Mary’s finished seven strokes behind in second with a 593 (+17).

It’s the fifth tournament victory of the 2015-16 season for Tarleton and the TexAnns have finished in the top five in all nine tournaments.

On senior day, Isabel Jimenez-Perea came away with a second-place finish on the individual leaderboard, recording a 71 and 72 for a final score of 143 (-1). Jimenez-Perea tallied 27 pars and had five birdies in the tournament.

Casey Wild came in third overall and improved her first-round score by six strokes. Wild carded a three-under-par 69 on the final day and an even par 144 for the tournament. The sophomore had 25 pars and tied for a tournament-best six birdies.

Beatriz Prados shot a 74 in both rounds for a 148 (+4) and finished in a four-way tie for seventh place. Prados sank a team-best 30 pars in the tournament.

Sarah Gee came in 23rd place with a 155 (+11) and had three birdies in the two rounds. Kerbey Kipp improved her scorecard by four strokes in the final round with a 77, which was the fourth registered score for Tarleton. Kipp ended up with a 158 (+14) and tied Wild for the most birdies on the team with six.

Tanner Wilson played as an individual and scored a 203 (+59).

Tarleton will compete at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Frisco at the Frisco Lakes Golf Club from April 17-19.
