Renfro earns another pitching honor from LSC

STEPHENVILLE (April 26, 2016) – For the third time this season, Trevor Renfro has been named the week’s top pitcher in the Lone Star Conference.

The right-hander from Richardson tossed his fifth consecutive complete game with seven innings of work to lead the Texans past Cameron 6-1 Saturday. He struck out eight batters and allowed four hits, surrendering just one run en route to an ERA of 1.29. The senior also held the league’s top-hitting offense to a .160 batting average on the afternoon.

With the win, Renfro improved to 7-3 on the season with six complete games in 12 starts. He is No. 4 in the Lone Star Conference with 85 strikeouts this season and improved his ERA (2.57) and opposing batting average (.210), which are both second best in the LSC.

He is also tied for the league lead in LSC Pitcher of the Week awards (3) this season.

Renfro and the rest of the Texans will return to action this weekend for the final home series of the season. Tarleton will host Texas A&M-Kingsville for three games, which will be determined based on the expected weather forecast in Stephenville.
