Tarleton earns three LSC weekly awards

STEPHENVILLE (May 5, 2016) – Tarleton Track & Field claimed three of the four spots for the Lone Star Conference Athlete of the Week after their performance at the ACU Twilight.

Dalton Stidham, Rascellis Williams, and Arianna Stegall took home the weekly honors for Tarleton, with all three being first-time winners.

At the ACU Twilight, Stidham highlighted the day for the Texans with two of Tarleton’s 10 total NCAA marks as the sophomore hit the national standard in the 110m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles. Stidham ran a 14.15 in the short hurdles and a 53.16 in the long hurdles.

Williams earned an NCAA mark in the high jump, an event that he defeated all other non-Division I competitors, by jumping 6-11 (2.11m). Williams’ time is second in the LSC this season and ties for fourth in Division II.

Stegall earned an NCAA mark in the 400m hurdles by finishing with the fourth fastest non-Division 1 time in the long hurdles with a mark time of 1:01.23. Stegall’s time ranks fourth in the LSC and 19th in Division II.
