Letter to the Editor

Dear Stephenville residents,

Saturday May 7th is Election Day for city council candidates and the courthouse will be open to voters from 7am to 7pm. A drive-through line is also available for special needs voters. I wish to encourage all eligible citizens to drop by and cast your ballot.
For two months I have conducted a positive, issue related campaign, emphasizing the importance of qualified, experienced leadership on the council. I was first elected in 2008 and have consistently represented you in a fiscally conservative manner. As a local real estate broker for more than three decades, I have proven negotiating experience that will serve you well as businesses seek incentives to expand or relocate to Stephenville.
My clear understanding of the value of investing your tax dollars in street improvements and utility upgrades is in contrast to my opponent. Infrastructure + Growth= Economic Development. The Chamber of Commerce and City have been diligently working on major projects that will provide more consumer choices and improve the quality of life for our residents. I wish I was able to share the news with you about the projects that are pending, but clearly I am excited about the positive momentum the city is experiencing.
Keeping the tax rate low and being a good steward of your tax dollars has always been a priority of mine.you may research my record and campaign platform on Facebook at Russ “Rusty” McDanel for Place 2 City Council. My home phone number is 254 968-4545 if you have questions or concerns before you vote this Saturday.
I am committed to ensuring the long-term financial health of city government and providing quality public safety. I am asking for your vote as I seek to serve you again on the Stephenville City Council.
Respectfully yours,
Russ McDanel
