Stephenville – Graveside Services with Military Honors for Dr. Melvin Albert Miertschin, 82, will be held at 11am Monday, June, 13, 2016, at West End Cemetery with Reverend Don Kirklen officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm. Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Melvin was born in Giddings, Texas on September 4, 1933 to Albert B. Miertschin and Annie H. Noack Miertschin. He married Mary Francis Dillon on August 8, 1959, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Melvin was Lutheran by faith. He retired from the United States Army.
Survivors include wife; Mary Francis Miertschin of Stephenville ;Children: Debra Miertschin and husband Lonnie Bennett of Eastland, Texas, David Miertschin and wife Lauren of Dana Point, California and Patricia Gilbert and husband Scott of Nexa ,Missouri; Grandchildren: Chance Zimmerman and Ashley Raffensperger, Justus Miertschin, Darius Miertschin, Lucus Miertschin, Sean Gilbert and Dannielle Gilbert; Great grandchildren Addisen Zimmerman, Caleb Raffensperger and Chasity Raffensperger.
Melvin was proceeded in death by his parents Albert Ben and Annie Miertschin and his sister Lavern Wright.
