Jimenez-Perea first from Tarleton to be named LSC Female Athlete of Year

STEPHENVILLE – TexAnn Golfer Isabel Jimenez-Perea has been named the Lone Star Conference Female Athlete of the Year.

Jimenez-Perea adds the award to an incredible list of accomplishments during her senior campaign and illustrious career. Jimenez-Perea was recently named the Women’s Golf Coaches Association PING Division II Player of the Year – the first player in Tarleton and LSC history to win the award – as well as the No. 1-ranked player in Division II by GolfStat.

The Madrid, Spain native finished third at the 2016 NCAA Division II Championships, which is the highest individual finish in Tarleton history. Jimenez-Perea finished in the top 10 in 11 of the 12 tournaments this season and helped the TexAnns win seven tournaments. She led Tarleton to its record ninth LSC championship and ninth regional title in 10 years as the senior won the individual title at the West Regional Tournament for the second time.

The four-time All-American earned LSC All-Academic team acclaim her senior year and received first-team All-LSC honors all four years. Jimenez-Perea was also named to the WGCA All-Region team for the fourth time. She was a nine-time LSC Golfer of the Week in her career and won 12 tournaments in her four years, including three her senior year.

Jimenez-Perea is the first Tarleton athlete to be named LSC Female Athlete of the Year since Carla Cooper in 2011.
