Storrs named topped newcomer, three other Jackets earn all-district honors

STEPHENVILLE (June 10, 2016) — Cody Storrs is the District 6-4A Newcomer of the Year in baseball and three other Yellow Jackets were named to the first-team roster in a vote of league head coaches.

Stephenville finished third in the district and advanced to the area round of the playoffs before being eliminated by Decatur in three hard-fought games.

Storrs, a freshman catcher, is joined on the first team by junior pitcher Caleb Gibbons, senior utility player Cole Harmon and junior outfielder Seth Heupel.

Second-team selections from Stephenville include senior infielders Bradley Morrison and Sam Weber and senior outfielder Austin Wayland. Freshman short stop Derek Gifford earned honorable-mention status.
