BROCK – The 25th Annual Plowboy Shootout golf tournament to benefit the Tarleton Athletics scholarship fund reached new heights this season as a tournament-record 63 teams hit the links at Canyon West Golf Course Friday afternoon.
“The tournament was a tremendous success,” said Tarleton Athletic Director Lonn Reisman. “We really appreciate everyone that participated – from the players to the corporate and hole sponsors. This tournament is very important to us because it creates scholarships for our student-athletes and the support we’ve gotten over the last 25 years has been incredible. Again, we would like to say ‘thank you’ to everyone that participated in the tournament in any way and we appreciate what our supporters do for Tarleton Athletics and our student athletes.”
The event was held for the first time in its history at Canyon West Golf Course in Brock and saw 33 teams tee off in the morning and 30 teams take the course in the afternoon. There were also over 170 hole sponsorships for the event, also a new tournament record.
