STEPHENVILLE (July 27, 2016) — A mix of Stephenville High School varsity and junior varsity baseball players have teamed up to form Texas Clutch, and they are hosting a tournament this weekend at James T. Young Baseball Field.

Coached by Stephenville native PJ Burns, the Clutch welcome four teams to the tournament, which begins with a round robin, followed by championship and consolation games. Each team will play four games.

Texas Clutch begins play at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and again at noon Sunday. They will complete their weekend in either the consolation game at 2 p.m. or the championship at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets at the gate are $5 and all proceeds, including concessions, benefit SHS baseball. SHS and Henderson Junior High students will be admitted free of charge.

The tournament is sponsored by Taco Casa, Chicken Express, The Water Shop and Bramlett Implement.

Saturday, July 30

10 a.m. – JC Baseball vs. Cowtown Outlaws

Noon – JC Baseball vs. Bandits

2 p.m. Cowtown Outlaws vs. Texas Clutch

4 p.m. – Texas Clutch vs. Bandits

Sunday, July 31

10 a.m. – Cowtown Outlaws vs. Bandits

Noon – Texas Clutch vs. JC Baseball

2 p.m. – Consolation game

4 p.m. – Championship game
