Shannon Patrice Odom-Smith, 45, of Sachse, passed away August 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family after her courageous 7-year long battle against metastatic breast cancer.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at West End Cemetery in Stephenville with Craig Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Stephenville Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Victory Church 6301 E. Parker Rd. in Allen, Texas.
Shannon was born on April 15, 1971 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Carolyn Frances Floyd and Mark Edwin Garner. Shannon was a graduate of Grandview High School, class of 89, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and teacher certification from Tarleton State University. She has resided in the Sachse and Garland community for the past 11 years with her husband, David Joe Smith and their four children. Shannon will be dearly missed by all of her students and colleagues at North Garland High School where she taught Special Education
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Joe Smith of Sachse; son, Dalton Cade Shelton of Sachse; daughters, Dakota Raine Shelton, Cadence Reighly Odom, and Camryn Louise Smith all of Sachse; mother and father, Carolyn Frances Garner and Mark Edwin Garner of Stephenville; sister Shawna Dawn Balder of Stephenville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; as well as the many students whose lives she has touched.
