Lingleville (August 7, 2016) – With summer reading programs wrapped up and the new school year approaching, many families are cleaning out their home libraries. Before you sell your used books on Facebook buy boards, turn the volumes into Pinterest projects or toss them in the trash, consider sharing literacy.

Lingleville ISD PTO is calling on area residents to donate their unwanted books to an upcoming book drive.

“The book drive will benefit classroom libraries,” Emily Howell said. “All students, elementary to high school-level will be given access to the books for personal use.”

The book drive will be held in conjunction with Lingleville ISD Meet the Teacher Night, set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 18. Books may be left at the collection station in the foyer of the high school gymnasium.

Howell said the books will be distributed at teachers’ discretion and is not intended to replace the resources available through the school district’s library.

“Lingleville ISD PTO proudly supports the LISD library,” she said. “This program is to be used to expand the resources available to our students.”

Lingleville ISD is located at 21261 N FM 219 Road.
